European Islands and Farm Landscapes – FARM DIVERSIFICATION, LANDSCAPES & AGRI-TOURISM

The Islands: The Partners : Who's who

CYPRUS - ENGLAND - IRELAND - MALTA - NETHERLANDS - SCOTLAND - SPAIN - Menorca - SWEDEN

Opportunities from diversifying farm based activities jointly promoting sustainability of farm income and landscape management. Consultation and local training workshops with farmers and with expert bodies. Highlighting opportunities including island farm products, recreational activities and agrotourism.

The Project provides opportunity for sharing know-how between islands to the widely varying approaches for farm diversification across Europe. This promotes the opportunity for farmers and landowners to cherry-pick and take advantage of case studies of best practice.

Training and consultation locally will advise farmers on the farm diversification approaches and guidelines available and which have practically been seen to be most successful in a local context for maintenance of biodiversity and farm landscapes.
